Tube Snake Tutorial

Tube Snake - Keep away from small children and animals!

This is one of the best small items to put in your tool kit if you have tube tires. Saves your knuckles and keeps your blood pressure down. One end is threaded and the other is a valve core tool.

They are $24.95 and you will bitch about the price until you use it.

1. Remove valve core of new or repaired tube.

2. Roll the tube up with the stem facing out to remove as much air as possible.

3. Insert the tube snake (using the threaded end) into the stem to keep the air out.

4. Lay the tube on top of the rim.

5. Use one hand to lift the edge of the tire and the other hand to feed the tube snake through the stem hole. Pull the tube snake to get the stem out of the hole. Put the nut on loosely.

6. Lay the tube inside of tire, keeping the tube flat against the outer wall to avoid pinching.

7. Use spoons to work the bead back on rim, being careful to avoid pinching the tube

8. After you have the tire back on the rim, you can remove tube snake. Make sure your tube is centered, tighten rim locks if you have them.

Don't forget to inflate tire.
